Cameras are required in all areas where animals are kept, groomed, or handled, but not in employee break rooms, restrooms, or administrative offices

Video recordings must be retained for a minimum of 30 days and made available upon request to state agencies or law enforcement investigating animal cruelty, consumer fraud, or other violations

Violations carry civil penalties of up to $500 for a first offense and up to $1,000 for each subsequent offense, with each day of violation constituting a separate offense

The Department of Agriculture, in consultation with the Division of Consumer Affairs, is responsible for adopting rules and regulations to implement and enforce the requirements
