Extends the maximum term that retired Public Employees' Retirement System members who were former Legislature employees can return to part-time legislative work from four years to seven years without canceling their retirement or re-enrolling in the pension system

Applies to retirees who received retirement allowances prior to P.L.2021, c.498 or during calendar years 2022, 2023, or 2024, for non-disability retirements

Returning retirees must wait at least 30 days after retirement allowance becomes payable, have reached service retirement age, and work no more than 20 hours per week as part-time employees

Allows former retirement system members who already returned to employment under previous versions of the law to extend their term to seven years from their return date

Former members of the Legislature (elected officials) remain ineligible to return to employment or office under this provision
