Extends the automatic health insurance coverage period for newborn children from 60 days to 90 days after birth

Requires parents to notify their insurance provider and pay any required premiums within 90 days of birth (increased from 60 days) to continue coverage beyond the initial period

Applies to all types of health insurance contracts including hospital service corporations, medical service corporations, health service corporations, and individual and group health insurance policies

Covers newborn children from the moment of birth for injury, sickness, and medically diagnosed congenital defects and abnormalities

Takes effect 60 days after enactment and applies to contracts, policies, and plans delivered, issued, executed, or renewed after that date
