Licensed acupuncturists would gain authority to order diagnostic tests including x-rays, CT scans, MRIs, bone scans, electromyography, bioanalytical laboratory tests, and hormone saliva tests

"Expanded practice" would permit acupuncturists to prescribe, administer, inject, compound, and dispense homeopathic medicines, sterile water, saline, vitamins, minerals, amino acids, procaine, lidocaine, ozone, and herbal extracts

Previously licensed acupuncturists can qualify for injection therapy, intravenous therapy, and bioidentical hormone therapy certification by completing 8 hours of diagnostic test ordering training, 60 hours of injection therapy coursework, and 40 hours of IV therapy training with passage of the National IV Association exam

IV certification must be renewed biennially with 25 continuing education credits required for renewal

Takes effect on the first day of the 10th month following enactment, with the Acupuncture Examining Board authorized to take preparatory administrative action beforehand
