First-time DWI offenders must maintain enhanced automobile liability insurance for one year with minimum coverage of $250,000 per person for bodily injury/death, $500,000 per accident for multiple injuries/deaths, and $100,000 for property damage

Second-time DWI offenders must maintain enhanced liability insurance for two years with minimum coverage of $500,000 per person, $1,000,000 per accident, and $200,000 for property damage

Third or subsequent DWI offenders must maintain enhanced liability insurance for four years with the same elevated coverage levels as second offenders ($500,000/$1,000,000/$200,000)

Enhanced insurance requirements begin after expiration of the applicable license forfeiture period and apply to owners or registered owners of automobiles registered or principally garaged in New Jersey

Takes effect 90 days following enactment
