Requires all New Jersey school districts to incorporate instruction on the dangers of cell phone usage and texting while driving into the health education curriculum for students in grades 9-12

Instruction must cover the correlation between distracted driving and erratic behaviors such as lane-weaving and sudden speed changes that lead to accidents

Students must receive statistics on driving accidents, injuries, and fatalities resulting from cell phone use and texting while driving

The Commissioner of Education is required to provide school districts with sample learning activities and resources to promote awareness of distracted driving dangers

The bill takes effect immediately and integrates this requirement into the existing New Jersey Student Learning Standards in Comprehensive Health and Physical Education
