New Jersey Transit Corporation must supply and maintain an automated external defibrillator (AED) on every train set used for rail passenger service, with each AED kept in an accessible, prominently marked location

At least one employee trained in CPR and defibrillator use must be present on every train set during operation

NJ Transit must provide CPR and AED training for authorized employees, fare enforcement officers, and other designated staff members

NJ Transit must notify appropriate emergency medical services providers of the type and location of defibrillators on trains and ensure regular testing and maintenance

The corporation and its employees are granted civil liability immunity for the acquisition and use of defibrillators; the law takes effect 13 months after enactment
