Urges the New Jersey Governor to take all necessary measures to ensure the state participates in the federal tax credit scholarship program created by the "One Big Beautiful Bill Act" (Pub.L.119-21)

The federal program, effective January 1, 2027, provides taxpayers an annual federal tax credit of up to $1,700 for contributions made to state-recognized scholarship granting organizations

Scholarships can be used for qualified K-12 education expenses including tuition, fees, books, supplies, academic tutoring, special needs services, room and board, uniforms, transportation, and computer technology

State participation requires the Governor (or designated state entity) to recognize and certify scholarship granting organizations, which determines whether New Jersey students can access the program

The resolution argues that participation would provide tax relief to residents while expanding educational options and improving academic outcomes for families
