Spouses, civil union partners, domestic partners, and children (ages 17-26) of certain New Jersey veterans would receive free undergraduate tuition and student fees at public institutions of higher education

Eligible veterans include those killed in the line of duty, declared POW or missing in action, permanently and totally disabled (100% service-connected disability), or who died from a service-connected disability after honorable discharge

Eligibility requires the veteran was a New Jersey resident at entry into active duty, the dependent is currently a New Jersey resident, the student is enrolled in good standing, and has applied for all available state and federal grants/scholarships

Spouses and partners have a 10-year eligibility window from the veteran's death or disability determination, and lose eligibility upon remarriage or new civil union/domestic partnership

The Higher Education Student Assistance Authority and Department of Military and Veterans Affairs will administer the program, with the state reimbursing institutions for waived tuition and fees
