Courts must provide defendants granted pretrial release with a referral for psychological/psychiatric evaluation and drug or alcohol dependency evaluation

Evaluation providers must notify the court if the defendant completes the evaluation

The referral requirement does not apply when pretrial release is already conditioned on the defendant undergoing psychological/psychiatric treatment or substance abuse treatment at a specified institution

Amends New Jersey's 2014 pretrial release law (P.L.2014, c.31) by adding a new subsection to the existing release conditions framework

Takes effect immediately upon enactment
