Military-connected students who relocate may remain enrolled in their original school district for the remainder of the school year, or through graduation if they relocate during 11th grade.

Students whose families cannot access military housing within 30 days of arriving at a duty station may enroll in schools serving military installation families within 10 days of arrival.

Military-connected students receive enrollment preference and residency requirement waivers in inter-district school choice programs, with guaranteed admission regardless of capacity if parents provide military transfer orders for relocations exceeding 30 days.

"Military-connected student" is defined broadly to include dependents of active duty service members, National Guard, reservists, retirees, honorably discharged veterans, those who died on active duty, NOAA/Public Health Service members, and civilian Department of Defense employees.

Students in districts meeting less than 80% of quality performance indicators under the New Jersey Quality Single Accountability Continuum may enroll in schools serving military installation families.
