Undergraduate students at four-year institutions must file a degree plan by completion of 60 credit hours, while transfer students with at least 45 credits must file during their second semester at the institution.

Community college and proprietary institution students must file a degree plan by completion of 30 credit hours.

Institutions must develop pathway systems with graduation progress benchmarks for each academic major and require credit-bearing math and English courses within the first 24 credit hours for first-time degree-seeking students.

Students in remedial math, reading, or English courses must take the corresponding credit-bearing course either concurrently or in the semester immediately following the remedial course.

Students falling behind graduation benchmarks must consult with an academic official, and those changing majors or minors must file a revised degree plan.
