Sheriffs, constables, state investigators, Special Civil Part court officers, court attendants, and other authorized persons must be permitted to enter gated residential communities and multi-unit buildings to serve legal documents on residents

Security guards and other personnel controlling access must allow entry to authorized process servers upon presentation of photo identification and the legal document to be served

Personnel who refuse to permit entry to authorized process servers commit a petty disorderly persons offense, punishable by up to 30 days imprisonment, a fine up to $500, or both

Applies to any location where security personnel must approve or facilitate visitor entry beyond the entrance or lobby area
