Foreign corporations providing electronic communication or remote computing services must comply with New Jersey search warrants, court orders, and subpoenas seeking customer records including identity, stored data, and communications content within five business days.

Courts may require faster production if delay would cause adverse results such as danger to safety, flight from prosecution, destruction of evidence, or witness intimidation.

New Jersey domestic corporations must reciprocally comply with out-of-state search warrants, court orders, and subpoenas for customer records as if issued by New Jersey authorities.

Corporations complying with these requirements receive immunity from civil liability, and must provide affidavits attesting to the authenticity and accuracy of produced records.

Violations constitute contempt of court with civil penalties between $10,000 and $50,000 per violation, and courts may suspend or revoke the corporation's license to do business in New Jersey.
