Licensed acupuncturists would gain authority to take and order x-rays, order bioanalytical laboratory tests, and order or perform diagnostic tests including CT scans, MRIs, bone scans, and electrodiagnostic examinations

Creates "expanded practice" certification allowing acupuncturists to prescribe, administer, inject, compound, and dispense substances including homeopathic medicines, vitamins, minerals, amino acids, procaine, lidocaine, blood products, and herbal extracts

Acupuncturists certified in expanded practice would be authorized to perform injection therapy, intravenous therapy, and bioidentical hormone therapy

Previously licensed acupuncturists can qualify for expanded practice certification through approval by the Acupuncture Examining Board or equivalent certification from the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine

Takes effect on the first day of the tenth month following enactment, applying to new and renewal license applications after that date
