Four-year colleges and universities in New Jersey would be authorized to award associate degrees to students who complete 60 or more academic credits at the institution

Transfer students could receive an associate degree if they earn 60 total credits with at least 30 credits completed at the four-year institution

Institutions must notify students of their eligibility for an associate degree upon completing 60 credits and when withdrawing before finishing a bachelor's degree

Programs must meet Middle States Commission on Higher Education accreditation standards and align with the institution's mission, faculty, and resources

The Secretary of Higher Education must submit annual reports to the Governor and Legislature on the number of associate degrees awarded by four-year institutions
