Residential psychiatric facilities, long-term care facilities, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, dementia care homes, and continuing care retirement communities must provide quarterly written financial accounts to residents showing all deposits, withdrawals, and property held on their behalf.

Financial statements and receipt copies must be distributed to the resident, their guardian (if any), next-of-kin, and for incapacitated individuals who are wards of the State, any person the resident designated when becoming a ward.

The quarterly account must show the amount of property at the beginning and end of each accounting period, along with itemized lists of all transactions substantiated by receipts.

The bill amends multiple sections of New Jersey statutory law governing different facility types, including P.L.2011 c.58, P.L.2015 c.125, P.L.1965 c.59, P.L.1976 c.120, and P.L.2013 c.167.
