Licensed private detectives in New Jersey must notify the State Police when employed by a foreign government or foreign national, in addition to existing federal notification requirements under 18 U.S.C. s.951.

The Superintendent of State Police must inform licensees of this foreign employer notification requirement upon initial license issuance and renewal.

A confidential registry of private detectives employed by foreign nationals or foreign governments will be maintained by the State Police, accessible only to the Attorney General and State Police members.

The registry must include the investigator's name, business name, business address, employer name, and employer address.

Takes effect on the first day of the sixth month following enactment.
