Licensed master plumbers would be exempt from electrical contractor business permit requirements when replacing electric water heaters with units of similar size and voltage (240 volts or less) that have a disconnecting means at the load side of the distribution board or service disconnect within sight of the equipment

Licensed master plumbers would also be exempt when replacing service disconnects and whips for replacement air conditioning condensing units not exceeding 240 volts with similar size and voltage requirements

Amends P.L.1962, c.162 (C.45:5A-18), which lists exemptions from electrical contractor business permit requirements

Takes effect on the first day of the fourth month following enactment and applies to contracts initiated on or after the effective date
