Disqualifies any person employed as a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent or officer between September 1, 2025, and January 20, 2029, from holding employment with New Jersey state agencies, political subdivisions, law enforcement positions, or teaching positions.

Defines ICE agent or officer as anyone responsible for or providing direct support in identification, arrest, detention, transport, processing, or removal of individuals violating immigration laws, including Deportation Officers and Immigration Enforcement Agents.

Applies to both compensated and uncompensated positions, covering civil service and non-civil service employment across all state departments, counties, municipalities, school districts, and independent state authorities.

The employment ban covers a broad range of law enforcement roles including State Police, correctional officers, parole officers, special law enforcement officers, transit police, campus police, and humane law enforcement officers.

Legislative findings cite concerns about alleged untargeted arrests, racial profiling, and recruitment practices by the Department of Homeland Security beginning in 2025 as justification for the restrictions.
