Prospective tenants must receive written disclosure about lead plumbing and associated health risks before signing a new lease, in a format determined by the Department of Community Affairs.

Violations are subject to civil penalties up to $500 per offense, with each day of continued violation constituting a separate offense.

The Department of Community Affairs is authorized to adopt rules and regulations to implement the disclosure requirements.
