Division of Aging Services in the Department of Human Services must establish and maintain a voluntary central registry for New Jersey residents age 65 and older, collecting name, date of birth, address, income level, and contact information.

Registry data will be used for compiling statistics on senior citizens, conducting wellness check calls during emergencies, and providing information on programs like NJ SAVE and local Area Agencies on Aging.

Registered individuals may request removal from the registry, with a 21-day waiting period before all associated records are destroyed.

All registry information is confidential, exempt from public records laws, and may only be shared with agencies designated by the Commissioner for purposes of carrying out the act.

Division must conduct a statewide multimedia public awareness campaign in English and Spanish targeting individuals age 64 and older; the act takes effect 90 days after enactment.
