Extends existing tuition waiver eligibility at New Jersey public colleges and county colleges to workers who lost jobs due to automation, in addition to those displaced by factory or plant closings

Eligible individuals must have been in the labor market for at least two years and be unemployed or have received a layoff notice

Waiver applies only to job training courses and only if the person is ineligible for State or federal student financial aid

Enrollment is subject to available classroom space and requires minimum enrollment of tuition-paying students; institutions may charge a registration fee up to $20 per academic term

According to a 2020 United Way ALICE report, 84% of jobs paying less than $20/hour and 42% of jobs paying more than $20/hour in New Jersey are at high risk of automation
