Codifies seven State-excused absences into New Jersey law, including religious observance, Veterans Day participation, district board of election activities, civic events, Take Our Children to Work Day, and busing district closures

Expands excused absences for 11th and 12th grade students to include military service activities (testing, medical evaluations, interviews, fingerprinting), vocational or trade school visits, and labor-related open houses—up to three days per school year

State-excused absences will not appear on transcripts, applications, employment forms, or similar documents and will not affect perfect attendance determinations

Requires students to provide documentation deemed necessary by the superintendent or administrative principal to qualify for a State-excused absence

Takes effect 180 days after enactment but remains inoperative until the first day of the first full school year following the effective date
