Non-resident students enrolled in renaissance school projects must have their per-pupil payments (95% of per pupil expenditure) made by their home school district rather than the district where the renaissance school is located.

Renaissance school projects will be added to the Department of Education's Charter School Enrollment System for calculating and reconciling payments between school districts and the schools.

Payment requirements include 95% of per pupil expenditure, security categorical aid, a proportional share of special education categorical aid, 100% of preschool education aid (if applicable), and federal funds attributable to each student.

Residency and payment disputes for renaissance school projects will be resolved using the same rules and procedures currently used for charter school disputes.

The changes take effect immediately and apply starting with the first full school year following enactment.
