Authorizes the Commissioner of Community Affairs to waive required training course requirements for housing authority members, redevelopment agency members, and executive directors of these agencies

Qualified candidates may request a waiver for all or part of the mandatory course of study based on their prior experience

The Commissioner has discretion to approve or deny waiver requests based on assessment of the candidate's qualifications and experience

Current law requires housing authority and redevelopment agency members to complete prescribed courses within 18 months of appointment, and executive directors within two years, or be deemed to have resigned

Bill takes effect immediately upon enactment
