Proposes amending Article VI, Section VI, paragraph 1 of the New Jersey Constitution to remove the requirement that the Governor nominate and the Senate confirm judges for municipal courts with jurisdiction over more than one municipality

Would allow the Legislature to establish by statute an alternative appointment method for judges of joint municipal courts (serving multiple municipalities) and central municipal courts (serving all municipalities in a county)

Currently, judges of single-municipality courts are appointed at the municipal level, while joint and central municipal court judges must be appointed through the Governor with Senate advice and consent

If approved, municipalities creating joint courts or counties creating central courts could potentially appoint judges directly without state-level involvement

Requires placement on general election ballot occurring more than three months after legislative approval, with publication in at least one newspaper per county at least three months before the election
