The Highlands Region encompasses over 800,000 acres across 88 municipalities and seven counties, providing drinking water for over 70 percent of New Jersey's population

Development restrictions under the Highlands Water Protection and Planning Act of 2004 limit affected school districts' ability to increase tax levies or grow enrollment to offset State aid losses

Copies of this resolution would be transmitted to the Governor, State Board of Education, and Commissioner of Education upon adoption
