Amends Article I, paragraph 1 of the New Jersey Constitution to add: "The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed"

Currently, the New Jersey Constitution guarantees rights to enjoy and defend life and liberty but does not explicitly protect firearm ownership

Requires voter approval at a general election occurring more than three months after legislative passage, with publication in at least one newspaper per county at least three months before the vote

Sponsored by Assemblywoman Dawn Fantasia and Assemblyman Michael Inganamort, both representing District 24 (Morris, Sussex, and Warren counties)
