New Jersey condemns Russia's illegal deportation of more than 19,500 Ukrainian children, of whom only approximately 1,900 have been returned

Deported children are reportedly sent to over 210 "re-education" camps across Russia, Belarus, Russian-occupied Ukraine, and North Korea where they are subjected to propaganda, forbidden from speaking Ukrainian, and in some cases trained in military operations

Russia allegedly targets vulnerable children including orphans, children with disabilities, children from low-income families, and children with parents in the military

The International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants in 2023 for Russian President Vladimir Putin and Children's Commissioner Maria Lvova-Belova for these illegal deportations

The resolution directs copies be transmitted to the President, congressional leadership, all New Jersey members of Congress, and Ukrainian and U.S. ambassadors to the UN and respective countries
