Water suppliers must immediately notify municipal governing bodies and chief administrators of all school districts, charter schools, nonpublic schools, and higher education institutions whenever a Tier 2 Public Notice violation occurs under EPA National Primary Drinking Water Regulations.

Notification must be delivered by both telephone and electronic mail.

Required notification details include: contaminant name, maximum contaminant level or action level, actual contaminant levels found, test dates, sample locations, and which samples exceeded standards.

Water suppliers must also provide customers with suggested remedies to address the violation.

The bill takes effect immediately upon enactment and supplements New Jersey's existing Safe Drinking Water Act (P.L.1977, c.224).
