Second-offense DWI convictions require enhanced liability coverage for two years, with minimums of $500,000 per person for bodily injury/death, $1,000,000 per accident for multiple injuries/deaths, and $200,000 for property damage

Third or subsequent DWI offenses require the same enhanced coverage levels as second offenses ($500,000/$1,000,000/$200,000), but the coverage must be maintained for four years after license forfeiture ends

The enhanced insurance requirements apply to any automobile registered or principally garaged in New Jersey that the convicted person owns or is the registered owner of

The bill takes effect 90 days after enactment and amends R.S.39:4-50, New Jersey's existing DWI statute
