School districts would be required to distribute State aid for nonpublic school nursing services directly to the individual nurse providing the services, rather than through intermediaries, when specific conditions are met.

Nonpublic schools must provide documentation verifying the nurse's licensure with the New Jersey State Board of Nursing and records of actual hours worked at the school.

Nonpublic schools must submit an attestation form (developed by the Department of Education) confirming documentation validity and agreeing to assume liability if the nurse is found to be unlicensed.

The new payment procedure applies to nursing service agreements renewed or entered into for the 2021-2022 school year and beyond; existing 2020-2021 agreements are exempt.

School districts may still use a portion of the State aid funds for administrative purposes related to nonpublic school nursing services.
