Establishes the New Jersey Center for the Study and Prevention of Suicide at Rutgers School of Public Health to research causes, prevention, and reduction measures for suicide.

Center will conduct research on the nature of suicide, individual and societal determinants, consequences at all levels, and treatments for suicidal thoughts.

State agencies including the Department of Health, Department of Law and Public Safety, New Jersey State Police, and Department of Human Services must provide data to the center upon request.

Center may administer a competitive peer-reviewed grant program for suicide research and must recruit and train new researchers who recently completed college degrees.

Rutgers School of Public Health must submit reports to the Governor and Legislature one year after establishment and every five years thereafter on research projects, funding, and center direction.
