Undergraduate students at four-year institutions must file a degree plan by completing 60 credit hours; transfer students with at least 45 credits must file during their second semester.

County college and proprietary institution students must file a degree plan by completing 30 credit hours of coursework.

Institutions must develop pathway systems with graduation progress benchmarks for each academic major and general education programs for undeclared students.

First-time degree-seeking students must complete credit-bearing math and English courses within their first 24 credit hours; remedial students must take the corresponding credit-bearing course concurrently or immediately after completing remediation.

Students falling behind graduation benchmarks must consult with an academic official, and institutions must notify students of the need to file revised degree plans when changing majors or minors.
