Expectant mothers in their third trimester may obtain a temporary parking placard allowing overtime parking at metered spots and use of disability parking spaces in any New Jersey municipality

Municipal police chiefs must issue the placard upon written certification from a licensed physician, physician assistant, midwife, or nurse practitioner confirming third-trimester pregnancy

Placards expire after three months and must clearly display the expiration date; the applicant's physical presence is not required for issuance

The fee for the temporary placard is $4, payable to the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission

The Chief Administrator of the Motor Vehicle Commission will determine placard design and develop a standard certification form in consultation with local police chiefs
