Expands New Jersey's Family Leave Act to include protected bereavement leave for the death or stillbirth of a child, miscarriage (including chemical, ectopic, and molar pregnancy), medically-necessary pregnancy termination, unsuccessful planned adoption, and failed fertility treatments

Provides up to 21 days of bereavement leave for employees who would not otherwise qualify for other family leave benefits, or up to 7 days for those eligible for other leave benefits, to be taken immediately following the triggering event

Bereavement benefits are paid as family temporary disability leave benefits through New Jersey's existing temporary disability insurance system

Applies to employers with 30 or more employees and covers employees who have worked at least 1,000 hours in the preceding 12 months

Employers may require certification from a licensed health care provider stating the date of death, miscarriage, stillbirth, or termination to support bereavement leave claims
