Plenary winery, farm winery, and out-of-State winery license holders in New Jersey would be permitted to sell their wine products by the glass for on-premises consumption in their licensed salesrooms, in addition to existing rights to sell by the bottle and offer samples.

Salesrooms located on restaurant premises are excluded from the by-the-glass sales privilege.

"By the glass" is defined as selling an individual portion of wine, or wine mixed with nonalcoholic beverages, in an open container.

The bill amends R.S.33:1-10, which governs Class A alcoholic beverage licenses including brewery, winery, and distillery licenses.

Wineries producing not more than 250,000 gallons per year may operate up to 15 salesrooms apart from winery premises at a fee of $250 per salesroom.
