Dependent children of veterans who died, are missing in action, or are totally and permanently disabled from service-related injuries would receive tuition-free enrollment at New Jersey public colleges and universities.

Eligible students may receive up to 60 tuition-free credit hours for an associate degree and up to 120 credit hours for a baccalaureate degree.

The veteran must have entered the U.S. Armed Forces in New Jersey or been a New Jersey resident upon military entry, and disability must be certified by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

Students must first apply for all available federal and state grants, scholarships, and VA education benefits before receiving the tuition waiver, and cannot have federal veterans education benefits that exceed the waiver amount.

The State of New Jersey will reimburse public institutions of higher education for the costs of waived tuition under this program.
