Commissioner of Education must develop a sensitivity training program for high school athletic directors, coaches, and sports officials, in consultation with the Division on Civil Rights.

Training topics include gender and sexual orientation, race and ethnicity, disabilities, religious tolerance, unconscious bias, and diversity and inclusion.

Coaches and athletic directors at public and nonpublic high schools must complete the training every four years, with newly appointed personnel completing it during their first year.

Sports officials must certify completion of the training when applying to officials' chapters or associations, and active officials must recomplete training every four years.

The New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association is responsible for enforcing training requirements for coaches and athletic directors.
