Reduces the mandatory school transportation distance threshold for students in preschool through grade 4 from more than 2 miles to more than 1.5 miles from their public school of attendance.

Maintains the existing distance requirement of more than 2 miles for students in grades 5 through 8.

Maintains the existing distance requirement of more than 2.5 miles for students in grades 9 through 12.

Applies the same 1.5-mile threshold change to the Interdistrict Public School Choice Program for preschool through grade 4 students receiving transportation or aid-in-lieu-of transportation.

Takes effect in the first full school year following enactment.
