Pharmacy benefits managers (PBMs) prohibited from acquiring or holding any direct or indirect interest in pharmacy practice site permits in New Jersey, effective July 1, 2027

New Jersey State Board of Pharmacy required to assess all active pharmacy permits and send written notices at least 90 days before July 1, 2027 to pharmacy sites expected to violate the new prohibition

Affected pharmacy sites must notify all patients and prescribing healthcare providers at least 60 days before July 1, 2027 that the pharmacy will no longer dispense prescriptions after that date

Board may issue special permits for PBM-affiliated pharmacies to continue dispensing rare, orphan, or limited distribution drugs otherwise unavailable to patients, valid only until September 1, 2028
