Passengers can purchase one-way tickets by tapping credit/debit cards or contactless payment devices at platform entry and exit points, eliminating the need for pre-purchased physical tickets

The system must support digital transit cards loadable with funds that can be added to mobile wallet applications for smartphone-based payment

Reusable or one-time physical cards will be available for purchase, with NJ Transit authorized to charge a reasonable fee that must be waived for seniors and persons with disabilities

NJ Transit must study contactless systems in other states and attempt to find alternative employment for any workers displaced by the transition to automated payment
