Doubles annual survivor pension amounts for beneficiaries of volunteer firefighters, EMTs, first aid workers, and rescue squad workers who die from duty-related injuries: widow pension increases from $15,000 to $30,000; children's pension (after widow remarriage) from $10,000 to $20,000; parents' pension from $5,000 to $10,000

Increases maximum group life insurance coverage municipalities may pay for volunteer firefighters from $25,000 to $250,000

Requires municipalities with volunteer fire departments to pay reasonable funeral and burial costs for deceased volunteer firefighters not covered by the NJ State Firemen's Association or relief associations

Authorizes municipalities to establish a surcharge on fire code inspections to fund volunteer firefighter insurance and benefits
