Counties in New Jersey may establish a "Fire Academy Trust Fund" as a non-lapsing account to hold course registration fees paid by individuals at county fire academies.

Fund expenditures are restricted exclusively to equipment procurement, ongoing maintenance, supplies, and services necessary to operate county fire academies.

Amends N.J.S.40A:4-39 to add fire academy fee revenues to the list of dedicated revenues that can be anticipated and appropriated in local budgets.

Without this authorization, fire academy registration fees would lapse into the county budget surplus at the end of each budget year rather than carrying forward for academy operations.

Takes effect immediately upon enactment.
