Increases the accidental death benefit pension for PERS members who are firefighters, EMTs, paramedics, hazardous materials first responders, or fire instructors from 50% to 70% of final compensation, with a minimum of $50,000 annually.

Raises benefits for surviving children from 25% to 70% of compensation when there is no surviving spouse.

Requires the State to pay all employer-sponsored health insurance premiums for the surviving spouse and dependent children.

Applies retroactively to January 1, 2021, with beneficiaries who received benefits under the prior law entitled to a lump sum payment covering the difference.

Aligns PERS accidental death benefits for these specific positions with those provided under the Police and Firemen's Retirement System (PFRS).
