Mandates health insurance coverage for obesity treatment in New Jersey, including preventive care, nutrition counseling, behavioral therapy, bariatric surgery, and FDA-approved anti-obesity medications for chronic weight management

Applies to all types of health insurance contracts in the state: hospital service corporations, medical service corporations, health service corporations, individual policies, group policies, HMO enrollee agreements, and individual and small employer health benefits plans

Requires the State Health Benefits Commission and School Employees' Health Benefits Commission to include obesity treatment coverage in all contracts they purchase

Obesity treatment benefits must be provided to the same extent as coverage for any other medical condition under the applicable plan or contract

Amends Medicaid (P.L.1968, c.413) to cover obesity treatments including preventive care, nutrition counseling, behavioral therapy, bariatric surgery, and FDA-approved anti-obesity medications, contingent on federal financial participation being available
