Motorbus operators providing regular route, charter, casino, or special bus services are prohibited from unloading passengers at any location other than scheduled destinations in New Jersey.

Operators must carry documentation (departure/arrival schedules, passenger tickets, receipts) demonstrating the scheduled destination at all times while operating.

New Jersey Transit Corporation and its contracted operators are exempt from these requirements.

Violations carry a penalty of up to $1,000 per offense, with each instance of unloading at an unscheduled location constituting a separate violation.

Motorbuses used in violation may be confiscated and forfeited; emergency unloadings are exempt if the operator contacts emergency services and passengers remain near the bus.
