School districts with existing automotive programs may partner with private entities to develop and establish electric vehicle certification programs

Training programs will prepare students for careers in EV-related fields including automotive technology, engineering and design, and maintenance and repair

School districts must issue an electric vehicle certification to each student who successfully completes the training program

Districts may review national industry standards and consult with the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities when developing their certification programs

Eligible school districts include local, regional, county vocational, county special services districts, jointure commissions, and educational services commissions
