Requires Attorney General candidates to be at least 30 years old and have been a U.S. citizen for at least 20 years

Mandates at least seven years of New Jersey residency immediately before appointment, with an exception for those absent on official U.S. or state business

Requires candidates to have been a licensed attorney in good standing in New Jersey for at least 10 years prior to appointment

Candidates must have actively worked as a practicing attorney, judge, or law professor in New Jersey for at least seven of those 10 years

Amends P.L.1948, c.439 which governs the Department of Law and Public Safety; the Attorney General continues to be appointed by the Governor with Senate confirmation
